- Accompagnement musical : Indéterminé (d'après certaines sources, il serait l'oeuvre de Graeme Revell, mais c'est peu probable). A noter : l'utilisation, déjà, du cor, qui accompagnera dans le film chacune des apparitions des Wendols (on peut donc en déduire qu'il ne s'agit pas d'une idée de Jerry Goldsmith). Pour l'anecdote, ce même son de cor est entendu dans la bande-annonce cinéma du ROI SCORPION, au moment exact où le mot "warrior" apparaît à l'écran...

* La fiche technique qui apparaît à la toute fin du teaser crédite "Graeme Revell" comme compositeur de la musique du film.
* Contrairement à une idée reçue, ce teaser ne contient quasiment pas de plans inédits (en tout cas, beaucoup moins que la bande-annonce qui suivra), si ce n'est un plan de Banderas, de dos, en train de contempler le village en flammes (plan différent - plus rapproché, en fait - de celui qui figure dans le film, mais que l'on retrouvera dans la bande-annonce officielle - cf. ci-dessus) ainsi qu'un plan des Vikings empruntant une passerelle, à l'intérieur du repaire souterrain des Wendols, torches à la main (cf. captures en bas de page). C'est à vérifier, mais les 16 autres plans qui composent le teaser ont, à mon avis, tous été conservés dans le final cut du film.
* D'après la rumeur, ce teaser aurait été monté par "l'équipe de Jerry Bruckheimer" (ce qui est tout à fait possible, vu les rapports privilégiés qui unissent Bruckheimer Films à la maison-mère Disney). Il est à noter cependant que Leslie Anne Shevick Raymond (responsable de la promo du film sur Internet) m'a démenti cette rumeur (cf. son interview).
* Enfin, signalons que le gros intérêt de ce teaser, en plus d'être très réussi, est qu'il contient uniquement (et pour cause) des PLANS TOURNES PAR McTIERNAN! (a priori, ça n'a pas grand intérêt, hormis pour les fans du réalisateur, mais quand on sait que certaines des scènes dont sont issus les plans de ce teaser ont fait l'objet de reshoots intensifs - et notamment la scène de bataille finale -, ça prend une toute autre importance, non?)

- Où le télécharger : A ma connaissance, nulle part, vu que tous les liens de l'époque sont morts (ou alors, je n'ai pas assez bien cherché... Merci de me prévenir par e-mail si vous le dénichez quelque part sur le web!). Le seul moyen de le voir, c'est de se procurer le DVD français du film (mais attention, uniquement l'Edition Prestige!).

Bon, apparemment, le lien ci-dessus ne fonctionne plus, alors voici ce qu'on pouvait y lire : "New Antonio Banderas flick like fingernails on a chalkboard" (December 16, 1998) - "The tale of THE 13TH WARRIOR is a long and sad one. At one point, when it was still called EATERS OF THE DEAD, the movie tested so well that Touchstone was thinking about releasing it opposite GODZILLA. Yet for some reason, the combination of Michael Crichton's tale of a horde of flesh-eaters ravaging Europe and Antonio Banderas' star power wasn't enough to keep this movie from getting delayed, and delayed, and delayed. The most current release date is around January 1999, but even that's not so certain. So watch the trailer, because it may be the only thing you'll see on this movie for some time. A word of warning, though. When this trailer first debuted in theaters, it quickly earned the title of "Most Hated" because of the sound production. Watch it with a good pair of speakers and you'll know why."

Of course, this trailer is mixed loud, and it keeps repeating that obnoxious metal scraping noise - it really is physically painful to watch. Some of the shots of burning things look pretty creepy, but I think it was a bad idea to combine Vikings with the pseudo-high tech Imaginary Forces typography style for the trailer."

JOHN DOMBROW (31/01/98) : "I saw it too - short but very cool. This looks like an *extremely* dark, rugged, kick-ass CONAN THE BARBARIAN type adventure. I was really struck by just how edgy and dark Touchstone is marketing it (SEVEN-style credits and all). It gave me hope for a real return to form for John McTiernan (he's best when working in a serious mode ala PREDATOR & HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER, than comic book - DIE HARD III and LAST ACTION HERO), and EATERS looks like the most serious film he's attempted. Can't wait to see a full trailer."

HCWALLER (19/02/98) : "Saw the trailer for the movie, looks good. I'm curious though, who are the bad guys? Are they supernatural beasts or just a bunch of rowdy barbarians in funky masks? The trailer makes it look like something supernatural. But I don't always buy what the trailers try to suggest!"

ICKYBOY1 (18/04/98) : "There was a teaser attached to DEEP RISING that I saw, but this was when the movie was still titled EATERS OF THE DEAD... So they pulled this one pretty quickly when they decided to change the title. No full trailer exists as yet..."
