A father and son training sequence was filmed but not included. There is a shot on the opening flash of scenes, as soon as the Collector's Edition DVD opens with the sword, where you can select the "Special Features." You see a picture of young Conan and his father holding the sword together, as in a fighting stance. It can't be a publicity shot, because there's dialogue to go with this scene in the script. The Master says to young Conan, as they are holding the sword together, "Crom is a savage, lousy God, but he gave you strength and honor when you were born. You need nothing more, but don't trust him, either. Trust steel." etc., etc., as the lines we know it in the movie, but longer.
