Everything can happen on a movie set, including the most absurd things. Interviewed by Ken Bruzenak for the Prevue magazine, Ron Cobb remembers the filming of a particularly outstanding scene and explains why it was finally not retained in the final cut:
"The only time that I ever saw John standing speechless, was during a scene in the city where two elephants are seen. We were in a street crawling with thousands of extras. Just right in the middle of a banal exposition scene, one of the elephants climbs on the other and they began mating! It was a mammoth sighting which literally stopped the shooting. We were tempted to add the two mastodons standing one on top of the other [in the film], but John was never able to stop laughing long enough for that!"
It is regrettable that a "B-Roll/bloopers" section was not included in the Special Edition DVD of the movie (considering the lack of experience of the three main actors - Schwarzenegger, Bergman and Lopez - one can't help but suspect that the missed takes were legion...). .
