Oddly enough, Milius seems to complain during the audio commentary about having been more or less forced to use Mako as the voice-over narrator for the first movie, but guess who does the narration in his KING CONAN: CROWN OF IRON script draft from May 21, 2001? The Wizard, of course! His opening narration even recycles one line that should have been said by Schwarzenegger back in 1982:

WIZARD
Sit on the ground with me. Let the fire warm you and I will sing of greed, deceit, lust, and power. Ha! But that is not all. I sing of loyalty, honor, and love. Yes, love, for that is what makes men foolish or great. You may choose.

While on this subject, let's note that the last line of the scrolling text at the end of the first movie was changed on the Collector's Edition DVD, from "But that is another story" to "And this story shall also be told." Also, this text is now read by Mako, which was not the case in the previous version!
